She continued taking additional salsa classes which led her to one of the largest dance schools in New York City, Piel Canela in 2004. While earning a bachelor degree in engineering, she continued to grow as an individual and a dancer at Piel Canela, eventually performing locally as well as internationally. With an unquenchable passion for dance, Rebecca is currently working on her second degree in dance and movement therapy.

SALSEEK:  Tell us about your costume.

REBECCA:  It is a white, sleeveless, one piece costume, with different sized red stones scattered in front and behind. There is a small flower motif which occurs in the neck and wrist piece as well as the front of the costume and it is open on the right side while the left side drapes around the body and yet can be worn pinned up to the shoulder for another look.

SALSEEK:  What do you love most about this costume and why?

REBECCA: I love how the costume makes me feel. It is sexy enough in that it highlights the dancers legs, yet graceful in the way it drapes and flows around the body of the dancer.
