Spring Fashion Finds for The Salsanista PDF Print E-mail

By Marcia Herrera

Spring 2012 is here and our salsanistas need clothes that are versatile and affordable with that perfect balance of sexiness and class!  We put together this fun guide for this season’s Spring fashion trends that caters to all price ranges and appropriate for all ages, shapes, sizes, and skin tones.

This season you want to mix and match accessories to create different looks with the same clothes you have in your wardrobe.  Wear edgy metal accessories for a glamorous look or chunky wood beads for a casual day time look.  Most of these Spring looks will enhance your salsa dancing heels and your regular street shoes.  You will look hot on the dancefloor!

Fun Styles for Below The Waist:

  • ~  Animal print shorts--looks great with silk blouses paired off with heels, wedges, or flats.

~  Long flowy skirts--Simple and feminine, they look cute with crochet tops, tanks, and baggy shirts.  Tops can be tucked inside the skirt.  Add a belt that cinches at the waist or one that hangs slightly below the belly button.

~  Bright colored skinny jeans and capri’s—Wear with baggy shirts for balance and comfort or a form fitted tee.

Above the Belly:
~  Crochet tops--great for layering, easy to wear and will keep you cool on the dance floor!
~  Sleeveless Silk blouses—some have ruffles and lace, others are just solid colored.  But you can never go wrong with silk.

~  T-shirts and tanks with crystals--fashion retailer BEBE is known for having their logo adorned with crystals.  There are other brands who make tshirts with crystals.  Crystals help a t-shirt or tank top look feminine and glamorous.

Top Pick for Stylish Spring Shoes:
~  Nude-colored shoes--Kate Middleton is credited to making nude shoes a fashion hit!  This nude trend also comes in a pale pink and pale gray.  Nude matches with almost all colors and it is an alternative to black.

~  Dance Shoes - If you're looking for that perfect dance shoe for the warm summer months, also check out Burju Shoes.  Dancer and designer Shani Talmor came out with her gold and silver stiletto designers that are perfect for today's fashion finds. www.burjushoes.com

Dancer Griselle Ponce has also launched her own shoe line for dancers.  Check out her shoes for the spring at www.griselleponce.com

Now that you’ve got some new looks in your wardrobe, it’s time to hit the dance floor!
